| Are We A Retailer Or Are We A Foundation? BOTH! Passion Tree House, LLC went into business to make a profit. Passion's Tree Of Life Foundation was developed to support avian welfare. It's the way of good old USA! Once we became involved with the avian community, we began to see a very common and unfortunate trend. Not only were companion birds everywhere being fed, what is, in our opinion, ROTTEN diets, far too many birds were being dropped off at avian sanctuaries, or even worse, sold, sold again and still, sold once more, before finding a permanent home. We were absolutely astonished. Until we formed our business we were quiet bird lovers living privately with our flock unsuspecting that there was anyone in the world having difficulty living with their feathered friend! Because my husband, George, and myself are the people we are, we couldn't sit back and just let this growing trend keep happening without our own involvement to do something about it, even if what we did was small in comparison to the overall problem. We just HAD to DO SOMETHING! It wasn't very long into our business that we realized we could make a difference by using our retail division to support an international foundation to save the birds. Even though our foundation's name has changed many times to reflect our ever-expanding scope of visions, missions and actions, we remain true to our passion to this very day. We now accept all animal rescues and sanctuaries into our foundation in an effort to provide aid to all who participate in animal welfare. Our retail business provides the vehicle in which non-profit animal rescues and sanctuaries can earn commissions and receive grants from our general fund to help them along with their very own visions, missions and actions. Sheer determination. That's what it takes every day. And that's what our members give to the animal welfare community every day. Our members are people just like you and me who give of their time, their own personal income and their hearts to rescuing animals, providing veterinary care, supplying a safe home with love and affection to boot. Our retail division earns the money to donate to our foundation which in turn pays our affiliated members commissions to help them with their projects. It's that simple. Passion's Tree Of Life Animal Rescuers & Sanctuary Affiliation, Intl. is an accrediting association for animal rescues and sanctuaries. All 501c3 non-profit organizations who are accepted into our affiliate program must be willing to be scrutinized by our board. All certifying documents must be supplied, our policies, guidelines, standards must be followed. Local, state and federal laws must be adhered to. The cleanliness standard that their state veterinary board requires of licensed vets must be the same health and cleanliness standards our member's facilities align with. We have something to offer to animal lovers that no other accrediting association has to offer...a product their pets can benefit from, our foods. We have something to offer to non-profit rescues and sanctuaries that no other accrediting association has to offer...A reliable and solid product for our affiliates to retail to earn the funds they receive from the public....BirD-elicious! We mean business! Passion's Tree Of Life Foundation is funded like a "Private Foundation" through the retail sales generated through Passion Tree House, LLC. All proceeds are donated from our independently owned retail division. Therefore donations to avian welfare are private contributions made by the owners of BirD-elicious! |
